Scrapbook Obsession

Support from the Scrapbooking Community for Heidi Swapp

A lot of you have come to this site looking for information about the recent loss to Heidi Swapp’s family so I’m doing another post. I also wanted to let blog subscribers know that I’ve added updates to the original post that you may have missed, if you’re interested.

The outpouring of love and support to Heidi Swapp and her family has been amazing, including from her community of scrapbookers. Many of use have followed Heidi’s career, used her products, and loved her layouts and projects for years. We’ve watched her family bloom and her children grow via her scrapbook pages and on social media.

So while we may not know Heidi personally, we certainly feel close to her in another way and wish we could do something to help. Here are some things I found online to that end:

Persnickety Prints is collecting cards for Heidi’s family and here’s their Facebook post about it:

Lain Ehmann wrote a beautiful post on her non-scrapbooking blog.

Becky Higgins has a meaningful project going for the family that you can contribute to as well. More details about the 4×4 card HERE on Facebook. {That’s her beautiful boy Cory over Heidi’s left shoulder}.

If you know of any other tributes or related messages for Heidi, please let me know and I’ll include them above.

To paraphrase a comment I read on a scrapbook message board, “Even if my son is 27, if he were to pass away, you may as well dig a grave for me right next to his because I’d be gone.” I think that’s how most mothers feel and, if it weren’t for our need to take care of our other children and loved ones, we’d certainly just crawl right in next to our baby. It’s those kinds of thoughts that sit with me in these days, as I can’t stop thinking about the loss that another mom has suffered and aching, just truly aching, for her.

Godspeed, sweet Cory boy. You are so loved . . .
