They’re working with one of the oldest mills in the business, Kurabo, who also supply denim textile to well-known brands like 3×1 and Edwin. Will it become the new gateway for future denim heads to get their hands on well-priced Japanese denim? We think so.
Ambassadors Of Minimalism–The Japanese Footwear Brand To Know
Ambassadors of Minimalism, (Amb for short) is getting up front love in western circles, but the brand has been around since 2008. They offer simple footwear that catches no looks and simply do their job. Amb produces in Portugal which continues to be at the forefront of today’s footwear industry.
N. Hoolywood’s Exclusive Converse Chuck Taylor in Olive
N.Hoolywood shares their collaborative low-top sneaker produced by Japan-exclusive Converse Addict. It’s a very clean look based on 1960s Converse silhouette finished in an olive-drab colorway. Again, these are Japan only, but damn hot.
REI Debuts The Youth-Dedicated “Evrgrn” Line
As a life long member (and fan) of REI, we’re pumped for their new youth-oriented “evrgrn” sub-line featuring colorful and easy outdoor gear for budget-conscious consumers. Their “Downtime Hammock” is a favorite in the office.
Iconic Vivienne Westwood “Squiggle” Decorates New Cambridge Satchel Co. Range
A nice throwback to classic Westwood prints from the 1980s via this collaborative collection with Cambridge Satchel. The patterns are classic and ripe for a return.
Volcanic Rock-Textured Ceramics By Josh Herman
The details make Josh Herman’s latest collection of stoneware damn appealing. The pitted textures of the vessels are fantastic pieces for any home. We’re quite impressed.
Nendo Transforms A Suede-Like Composite Into Alcantara Wood
Stephanie Smith-Strickland tells is best: “Alcantara is one of those materials you’ve probably seen plenty of times, but have never really heard about. So what is it? For starters, it’s a suede-like composite made from polyester and polyurethane. This unique blend promotes increased durability and stain resistance, and is cheaper to produce and buy than real leather. Alcantara (specifically Alcantara S.p.A.) is also the name of the company responsible (in part) for designing producing the material dating back to the early 70s.”
DRx Reworks Carhartt, Levis and Military Fabrics from new FairEnds Collection
FairEnds caps are pretty hot at the moment. The Montana/NYC company has just tapped Dr. Romanelli to design a collection of hand-made caps using vintage Levi’s, military garments, Nike jackets, and Carhartt canvas that is nothing sort of awesome.
