Now, you might look at me and think ‘does she even use bronzer??’, especially when I post Instagram pictures like this, but I’m partial to a good glow occasionally. Last year I got an amazing St Tropez spray tan before my holiday, so I’ll likely be doing the same thing before my holiday to Spain next month. I love my pale skin, but it’s great to occasionally (and safely) get a nice golden glow.
I usually find that when I’m on holiday, I barely use any of my makeup, no matter how much I take with me. One thing I do reach for though, is a good bronzer to give my face a little more definition. Here’s my current favourite bronzers to get a beautiful, natural glow.
Topshop Highlighter in Horizon
Topshop, £10 (similar here)
Ok, ok, I know, this is a highlighter, not really a proper bronzer, but it could definitely pass for one. The Topshop ‘Horizon’ highlighter is perfect for giving your skin an extra little boost.
As you can see, it’s very shimmery, so it works perfectly for highlighting the bridge of your nose, cheeks and a very light dusting on the jawline and forehead. I’d say this one is great if you’re a little nervous about using bronzer, whether it’s because you’re pale or just because you don’t generally use it.
It’s a pretty purse-friendly £10 too, which means you can definitely treat yourself to something else in the range!
Clarins Aquatic Treasures Bronzing Compact*

There’s been a lot of talk in the beauty world of Clarins’ latest summer collection, Aquatic Treasures, and it’s perfectly justified. I’ve been trying a few bits from the collection but this is by far the showstopper. The Clarins Aquatic Treasures Bronzing Compact has a beautiful, intricate design, with varying matte shades of bronze to give a more contoured finish.
This is a luxury purchase, but the packaging and product are both stunning, not to mention the colour pay-off that you get when you use it. I’ll definitely be popping this in my suitcase for my holiday to Spain!
Michael Kors Bronzing Powder in Glow*

I didn’t even realise Michael Kors had a beauty range until very recently, but I’m so glad I discovered it as it’s small but full of some truly lovely products. The Michael Kors Bronzing Powder (in the shade Glow) is a great medium between the two bronzers above. It has a subtle natural bronze, but with a small amount of shimmer, and looks gorgeous on pale and tanned skin alike.
It’s a pricey bronzer, but it comes in a shiny gold compact with a huge mirror, making application on the go so much easier. Oh and it matches my handbag and purse, so it’s a no brainer!
