Brunch at Hanover Street Social

Brunchin' in Liverpool

As promised in my last post about our stay in Liverpool, our delicious brunch gets its very own blog post. We're becoming quite the brunch fans, especially on weekends when it's basically the only reason we can think of to leave our cosy bed. Breakfast just doesn't exist at the weekend.
Anyway, after spying a huge queue outside Moose Coffee and being told there was an hour and a half wait for a table at Bill's, we sought another place to stop our growing hanger. Mat spotted Hanover Street Social, it looked good from the outside and we took a bit of a gamble.

The Food

Thankfully, that little gamble paid off and the menu was exactly what we were looking for. Unable to choose between sweet and savoury dishes, we decided to order savoury and then split the blueberry pancakes.
Light, fluffy and filled with hot bursting blueberries, these were the perfect brunch pancakes. I loved that they were topped with creme fraiche instead of the usual cream, which made it less sugary sweet and sickly.
For our savoury courses, Mat opted for the Eggs Benedict and I chose the Smoked Salmon & Scrabbled Eggs on Crumpets. Both very simple dishes that had great flavour, filled us up and most importantly of all, beat the hanger.
Highly recommend you pop in to Hanover Street Social if you're ever in Liverpool. They're really close to the docks and Liverpool One as well, so perfect before an afternoon of shopping and sightseeing.
