Step Into Spring

Hello spring! We’ve been waiting for you! Chicago likes to extend winter for as long as possible but as soon as the first signs of spring arrive it is like the entire city comes out of hibernation.

Dave and I love taking advantage of the nice weather by taking Webster on long walks before we start work, eating al fresco, walking to meetings rather than taking public transportation, grilling out, working in the park…the list goes on and on. On this particular day I didn’t have time to stop at home between a morning walk with Webster and an afternoon meeting so Webster joined me for the entire day and I packed some extra outerwear and shoes to change up my look from casual to dressy. Thankfully Johnston & Murphy had sent over two amazing pairs of shoes from their newest collection and a classic white trench that immediately dresses up any outfit. Their shoes are so incredible comfortable, I swear it feels like I’m walking on little clouds {and that’s hard to say about brand new shoes that sometimes need a little wear to fit well!} My go-to denim dress was perfect for a casual morning paired with my new favorite Deena wingtip oxfords. I traded out the typical white laces for pink ones that make the shoes feel much more casual and playful.

For my afternoon meeting, I added a white trench and opted for leopard ankle strap wedges that were the perfect height for walking the 15 minutes to the coffee shop. It’s amazing what some fun accessories can do to an otherwise super simple look. Check out Johnston & Murphy’s new collection here and see how other bloggers styled their new J&M kicks right here {so many cute options}.
