What attracted you to tattooing?
I've always been fascinated with body art since I was tiny, my mum had a lot of books on body modification and body art through tribal culture in her art workshop so I guess that's where I first got an attraction to body art such as tattooing etc.
How did you get into the industry? Was it hard to find an apprenticeship?
I was a body piercer for a few years and would always draw at the studio while waiting for walk ins, then one day I just started tattooing with the help of a few friends who gave me pointers and tips. I was pretty much self taught. I learnt about cross contamination and hygiene when I was doing my piercing apprenticeship years before I started tattooing.
How long have you been tattooing?
Since January 2012
What inspires you?
So many different things, people, buildings, nature (so much inspo in fruit and veg!) my weird mind comes up with some cool ideas sometime but I cant explain where they come from.
Who are your favourite tattoo artists?
Rebekah Hodgson, Sway , Jemma Jones, Gerhard Wiesbeck, Duncan X, Tomas Tomas there is so many amazing artists I admire.
How would you describe your tattoo style?
Geometric kawaii space elf intergalactic realness!
What have you learned from the industry?
its bloody tough! especially because of how many people want to tattoo these days, but its the hard aspects that make you a stronger person so its all a beautiful life lesson.
If you weren't tattooing what would you be doing?
Probably be a vampire or mermaid. I don't think I could do anything apart from tattoo or be some kind of mythical creature.
What advice do you have to people considering careers in tattooing?
Be prepared to work harder than you have ever worked because, make sure you have a strong backbone and a thick skin, never stop drawing and stay true to your own individual creative spark.
What are some of the best things you have experienced as a result of your career?
Meeting some of the most beautiful inspiring loving people I have ever met and I have been able to travel the world tattooing seeing amazing new places and meeting awesome new people.
