Sew and Swap: 2015 Sewing Swaps

Have you ever seen a post on Instagram that someone you follow is participating in a really cool swap, and you’re sad that you missed the sign ups? Sometimes you just have to be on the right webpage at the right time to get in on the swapping action, but we’re doing our best to round-up some future 2015 swaps for you right here, so you can join in the swapping fun, too!

Instagram Swaps – you need an active Instagram account to join these:

AMC TV Swap – Are you a fan of the TV shows on AMC? The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, and more? If so, get on over to Instagram and sign up for the AMC TV Swap! This is a 1:1 swap, meaning you will send to one person who is also sending back to you. The requirements are for one handmade item and a few themed extras, and the shipping deadline is June 30. Find a link to sign up on @AKChrissyMae’s profile.

Nerdy Mug Rug Swap – You can probably guess it from the title, but participants will make a mug rug with a nerdy theme (think favorite TV series, comic book characters, or books). Check out the Soooo Charming blog for full details and sign up information (this swap begins in March).

Anna Maria Horner Mini Quilt Swap – @Katebasti is running the show on this swap, which will feature fabric designer extraordinaire Anna Maria Horner. If you’d like to make a mini quilt, the sign ups will open at the end of February and shipping will occur in June or July. Follow @Katebasti for more details.

Don’t forget to come find me on Instagram after you’ve signed up for your swaps. I want to see what you’re making! Plus, you never know who might be your next partner.

Other Swaps:

Craftster swaps – Long a hangout for crafty types on the web, Craftster hosts a variety of swaps each year. To find out about Craftster swaps, visit their swap information page. If you’d like to join a swap, you can find LOTS of them on the crafty swaps forum. You’ll have to be an active member of Craftster for at least a month before you can join a swap, though.

Handmade Apron Swap – Make one apron for a partner who’s also making one for you, and send it along with a recipe for your favorite baked good. It’s as simple as that! If you’d like to get a new apron and make a new friend at the same time, visit Sugarlane Quilts for all the details. Sign ups close February 26th and swaps go out at the end of March.

Jewells Easter Swap 2015: Sign ups close in mid-March, so get in now if you’re interested! The theme of this swap is Easter, and you send 10 items to your recipient: one beginning with each letter in the phrase “Easter Time.” It’s a fun and interesting idea open to international swappers of all kinds! Find out more at Jewells blog.

After you’ve signed up for your swaps on Instagram come find me here.
