around L.A. / the MIA project.

The MIA Project began in 2012 with a small but powerful badge given to makers and shop owners conducting the majority of their business in America — the badge to be proudly displayed on their websites, social medias and storefronts, attracting the intentional consumer. Founder Micha Thomas launched the online store with over 100 makers in the Spring of 2014 and introduced the first brick and mortar a year later on York Blvd in Highland Park. The tiny space is packed full with a well-curated selection of fine, made-in-America apparel, home objects, apothecary and accessories. But the MIA Project goes beyond retail with maker interviews and spotlights with like-minded shop keepers in a constant effort to educate and celebrate a movement that’s sweeping the country. Stop in soon for a visit, a gift and a little somethin’ somethin’ for yourself.
