Taste the difference with 16 Water

Do you drink enough water on a daily basis? I have to admit that at one point I didn’t. Then I had to have surgery to get rid of a nodule from a salivatory gland under my tongue that made me start to drink more water. The ENT told me that it was due in part to not drinking enough water. From that point on I make an effort to drink at the very least the required eight 8 ounce glasses of water daily. I also find that when I drink enough water my skin is less dry and I just feel better. With this being the summer time I tend to drink more water.

I am grateful that my husband and kids drink plenty of water too, and I don’t even have to remind them. My son in fact drinks more water than any of us. He is well hydrated.

Not only is drinking plenty of water good for our overall health and skin, it can also help you to eat less calories. Sometimes when you feel hungry its not really a food hunger – it’s a fluid hunger. It’s your body looking for more water, not more food. Plus drinking water fills you up helping you to drink less.

We use filtered water at home (in pitchers) and reusable water bottles. Sometimes we have to purchase water, especially when we’re out and about and neglected to bring a reusable water bottle with us.

My husband will tell you that all bottled waters taste the same. He said it doesn’t matter if it’s a generic brand of water or a high priced water like Fiji or Voss – he said they all taste the same. I don’t believe that. I think that some bottled waters do taste a lot different than others. I find some waters to have a certain taste to them and others I find to be more refreshing and quench my thirst better than others.

I was recently introduced to a brand of water called 16 Water.

Sixteen Water comes from a small volcanic island off the coast of South Korea called Jeju. In the center of the island is an active volcano called Mt. Halla. This is where 16 Water comes from.

Sixteen Water starts out as rainwater that collects inside Mt. Halla. From there the water travels through 16 layers (1,400 feet) of purifying, mineral-rich volcanic bedrock inside Mt. Halla, resulting in an 18-year purification process. The water is very filtered leaving behind mineral rich water. In fact, 16 Water contains high levels of Mg(Magnesium) and Ca(Calcium) levels which is important for energy metabolism.

Sixteen water also has an alkalinity similar to the body’s pH balance (pH7.8, great for body absorption),making it one of the healthiest waters on the market.

The whole filtration process takes an astonishing 18 years. That is a long time to wait for naturally purified water.

The above details about the water come from the brand. I am not a scientist so I have no way of varying these statements.

Needless to say I found the water very intriguing. I also wondered how it tasted. Thinking about how it travels through so many levels of volcanic rock to purify it, I was curious to see if it had an earthy, mineral taste to it.

The brand sent me some 16 Water to try out for myself and to let my family give it a try too.

Sixteen Water, in my opinion, does not have an Earthy or mineral-like taste to it. In fact I find the water to be very refreshing. It even quenches my thirst better than the filtered water from our water pitchers. Dare I even say it is more refreshing than some of the pricier bottles of water I have tried over the years.

Sixteen water has a clean, crisp taste to it.

My husband, who firmly believed that all bottled waters taste the same, even commented on 16 Water. He said it does have a better, cleaner taste than other bottled waters he’s tried. He actually noticed a difference between 16 Water and other water that we drink (including our filtered water).

My kids didn’t give me much feedback on 16 Water except to tell me that it was “good.”

I honestly don’t know if 16 Water contains the magnesium, calcium or other minerals. I have to take the brand’s word for that. From a non-scientific standpoint I find 16 Water to have a pure, crisp and clean taste and I find it very enjoyable to drink, especially when it’s ice cold on a hot and humid summer day. Once bottle really quenches my thirst.

Sixteen Water can be found a Fairway Markets, Amazon and other retailers across the country.
