Removing Sticker Price Tags...The Easy, No Mess Way

It's me!! I'm here...kinda. I'm more like remote teaching, but never mind with the details. Let's get on with the tutorial.

Before you go getting all "This isn't Silhouette-related" on me...let me explain. First off, I'm in these Silhouette Facebook groups, too - probably some of the some ones you are. And I swear if I see another question about how to remove sticker price tags off dishes and other items so they can be vinyl-ized I might burst.

There's no magic potion - but I have found the secret to literally wiping the tags off without any scraping, nail polishing-peeling, oil residue or random bits of sticky tag left behind. Seriously this is one of these stupid easy tricks.

I customize and personalize lots of ceramic dishes so I'm just going to use one of them as an example. There's no way I want to charge $10 for a jewelry dish that has a $1.50 price tag on the bottom. Seriously..nothing killed a business like showing your customers your profit margin.

So take your dish and flip it over (assuming the price tag is on the bottom). Fill a spritzer bottle with water. Squirt three or four good spritzes right on the tag. You want the whole thing to be wet...it's even better if there's a slight 'puddle.'

Now go cut your vinyl, weed it and pull it up with the transfer tape...or if you feel like it just stare at the sticker for at least 5-7 minutes.

Grab a dry or wash cloth towel and wipe off the sticker. The whole thing comes up that easily and all you needed was water! Look - it's all on the rag.

I used to use Goo Gone and my finger nails to remove sticker price tags, but I was always left with an oily residue. Who knew letting those tags sit in a pool of water for a few minutes would do the trick! In fact it's so easy (and apparently, fun) my daughter likes doing the job for me!
