egyptian printables: from mummies, to king tut, to hieroglyphs and more!

One of the coolest things about my 6 year old is her absolute obsession with Ancient Egypt. For the past year, she loves watching documentaries on it, reading about it, learning about it, dressing up as an Egyptian (anything gold will do!), and making Egyptian things. We even found an Ancient Egypt themed summer camp where they mummified Barbie dolls!

Clearly, I had the perfect inspiration for my next series of Smallful printables for Cricut: Ancient Egypt. I’ve been dying to share all of these projects with you: we have seven different Egyptian-themed items! They’re perfect for getting kids excited during this Back to School season – when hardcore learning and researching is looming on the horizon. There are two Egyptian masks to make and wear, a super easy Egyptian Collar necklace for royal afternoons, a pyramid playset with two Egyptian figures, a Sarcophagus with removable mummy (making it perfect for Egyptian party favors!), The Great Sphinx sculpture, and my personal favorite: The Hieroglyphic Decoder Wheel. Are you excited yet? GOOD!

The Egyptian King Tut Mask is really a no-brainer. After all, he’s the most famous Pharoah, and boys and girls alike can enjoy dressing up as ruler of the house. Did you know in Ancient Egypt there were female Pharoahs like Queen Hatshepsut? They were doing better than we are here in the US!

The Goddess Bastet is the protector against evil spirits. I think that makes this Goddess Bastet Cat Mask the perfect solution for keeping away those evil monsters under the bed and in the closet.

In honor of one of Egypt’s greatest Pharoahs, Queen Hatshepsut, I named this Egyptian Queen Hatshepsut collar necklace after her. During her rule she actually wore the male royal garb – from the tie-on beard to the giant headdress. But I like to think this collar necklace would fit right in with those accessories.

The Pyramid playset makes me want to have an ancient treasure adventure, don’t you? Just hide a couple trinkets somewhere near the pyramid, and then the two Egyptians can fight over who finds it first!

The Egyptian Mummy and Sarcophagus are as non-scary as can be. I know the real mummies are a bit creepy, but hey, these are for kids. Plus, leave the mummy out and you can fill your Egyptian Sarcophagus boxes with candy for the perfect Egyptian Party Favors!

The Great Sphinx sculpture is another one of those iconic Egyptian symbols. Let this sphinx guard your most ancient and important secrets. No one shall pass without answering a riddle!

The Hieroglyphic Decoder Wheel takes our mundane English alphabet and lines it up with Egyptian Hieroglyphs. Of course, the original Hieroglyphic language includes many more symbols, but this wheel is a great introduction – and perfect for letting friends pass the coolest of secret messages. Plus, it’s a breeze to make – so making extras for your friends is easy and fun.
