What Up

Welp, I rather enjoyed my “maternity leave” for the first 6 weeks or so of Luke’s presence here in the Bryan household.

Speaking of which, Justin and I are totally aware that his name is Luke Bryan like the current popular country singer. Truthfully, I couldn’t name one Luke Bryan song if I tried, so my Luke is not named after him in any way. If we would have named Luke like Beyonce or something, I would understand if people thought he was named after a celeb.

But Beyonce was not on our short list of boy names for my second born.

Luke Bryan is kind of just a normal name in the first place, before the singer made it special.

Anyway, I’m here today to have a little chat about what’s been going on.

I savored my time with my mom and the boys for the month of February and a little bit of March. It was glorious. GLORIOUS. HARK THE HERALD AN. . . too far?

I even worked a little bit behind the scenes because I’m sneaky and I don’t “sit” well. I don’t really nap, and I don’t really vegetate on the couch well.

Anyway, my maternity leave is now over, and I’m slowly getting back into the swing of things around here.

And the swing of things is a little bit insane.

Posting may be a little bit light initially, but I have every intention on maintaining my blog from here on out. And you may see a bit more family chat mixed in with the beauty stuff.

Because here’s the thing. Beauty is kind of taking a backseat at the moment.

Imagine a van. A Honda Oddessy if you will because those are the best and holy cow I never thought I would love a van like I do.

Beauty things used to be right up in the drivers seat. Spilling into the console, and there was even beauty in the passenger seat. The airbags of said vehicle are actually just make-up puffs.

And then I had David. And beauty slid over to the passenger seat.

And then I had Luke. And beauty got tossed into the trunk.

No, I’m kidding. It’s not that far back. But right now it’s in the optional 3rd row of seats.

Why? Well for one thing there is absolutely no time to do anything with two kids. No. Time. To. Do. Anything.

There is no time.

Secondly, I have a busy toddler that I like to play with. So that means we are outside walking around, or playing in the grass, or splashing the trickling water out of the spigot from our house. So beauty feels a little pointless some days.

I’m still not a roll out of bed kind of gal, but casual/minimal makeup hair is dominating my life right now. And the change feels appropriate.

So the beauty content here may shift a bit. Or it may not. I’ll just have to see how I feel as time passes.

Why am I telling you all this? Because this blog started out so dang beauty heavy, and specifically hair tutorial heavy, and I want to be up front with how I anticipate the content changing as my life changes.

I love blogging and connecting with other readers so much. It’s such a fun thing in my life that is hard to imagine not being there.

So thanks, reader, for checking in from time to time, commenting, and making this whole internet thing pretty awesome. And I hope you stick around too!
