So Many Lovely Things

Cinderella’s slippers

So a girl loses ONE shoe and bang – more important than one prince charming, 9 designers rush to the rescue…

Now, like it was with Maleficent, eeeeeeverything now is about Cinderella the movie, coming to our screens in March (and 50 Shades of Grey, of course) – make up, clothes lines and of course… shoes.

My favourite, from Nicholas Kirkwood

And Disney went all out and asked a little help from 9 fantastic shoe designers to come up with their perfect glass slippers.

Stuart Weitzman produced some booties, Salvatore Ferragamo’s Massimiliano Giornetti churned out cap toes jewelled heels, Nicholas Kirkwood played with periwinkle and bows, Jimmy Choo gave super sparkle, CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund recipient Paul Andrew went classic, Jerome C. Rousseau went a bit out of the box with barely there sandals, Alexandre Birman revisited one of his classics, the Johanna, Charlotte Olympia gave her signature huge platforms and René Caovilla added magic with a wonderful fire and ice creation.

My favourite has to be Kirkwood’s interpretation of it, followed by Jimmy Choo and René Coavilla for being so exotic.

And these slippers will fit all the ladies on the land (who can afford it, of course), as the beautiful designs will be on sale at selected shops around the world, such as Saks Fifth Avenue (New York and Beverly Hills), Harrods (London), and Galeries Lafayette (Paris).

Now add to that the lovely Christian Louboutin and Marc Jacobs already existent to take the collection to 11. ELEVEN pairs of wonderful shoes.

Quite the replacement, for a girl who lost one shoe. Who needs a Prince?
