A Home for Fall – 5 easy how-to Design Tips for your home

A Home for fall – Let’s get cozy

A home for fall, there is nothing like a fall edition of your home. Fall is now here, it’s soon Halloween and we spend more time inside. I’m sorry, I live in Scandinavia so just assume everyone else feel it’ s getting colder –and darker.

Every season has it’s perks, fall has many. So my 5 top design tips for fall is:

1. Let there be light

As it’s getting darker (and darker) at night, and as we adjust to the endless abyss, there is nothing like lots of lights. I love lights, may it be candles, light chains (I have so many) and cozy lamps. It gives a perfect mode in your home and really makes is so much more beautiful inside.

2. Keep the green alive

Don’t let the green plants just become “a summer thing”. Green plants makes a home so much more pleasant, not to speak of the fresh air they’ll help you with -also at fall (actually all year).

3. Rugs and blankets

It’s time to bring out all rugs and blankets. Nothing is more cozy in the fall than a nice blanket. Not only is it beautiful when it comes to interior design, it also keeps us warm. Talk about win-win right?

4. A warm colour scheme

I am a blue person. What I mean by that is that a love a cold scheme in my home, I love everything blue and blue-ish. But, when fall comes I go a little crazy and take a tiny, wee, little step away from all the blue, and add more warm colours. Let’s go crazy!

5. Scents

With four rabbits you know there is a constant battle against any smell. I need my home to have a nice scent. In the summer the door on the terrace is constantly open, and there is this fresh air all the time. In fall the door isn’t open as much as it used to, so know I can go crazy with my scented candles (hey light and scent both in one), incense sticks are another favourite.

Do you have any favourite rituals for fall?
