Chasing Fall

For a few months now, I’ve been searching everywhere for fall. When I visited Nashville a few months ago with friends, I looked for it there. It hadn’t quite arrived. Last year, we drove up to Payson to find it. I had decided that I just wouldn’t find it this year.

Then, on Saturday, I drove over to a park for a photo shoot, and there it was – waiting just for me. I had stopped looking and decided to pout about not seeing any colors this year. And there they were, right before my eyes! Glorious yellow trees, standing so tall, just waiting to be discovered.

The park was so quiet. It made me wonder if anyone else has noticed their beauty.

As my heart prepares for Christmas, I can’t help but think about our Savior.

He came, whether we notice Him or not.

We might chase Him or happen upon Him by accident. Either way does not change the fact that He came. He is waiting for us to notice Him. He came so that we may live.

I’ve hard a rough start to the Advent season. A friend’s baby born sleeping, two friend’s whose fathers have passed, and my own struggle with not feeling well have me distracted. Hopefully I will realize that He is here. He has been waiting for me all along. I can sit and rest knowing He is here and that He came so that I may have life more abundantly.
