HGTV’s New ‘Hunting Vintage’ Features Union Square Home and South Baltimore Scenes
Last week, HGTV premiered a new show called ‘Hunting Vintage,’ which is styled after House Hunters but with the buyers looking at vintage homes. The first episode was based in Baltimore and followed a couple looking at homes in Ashburton, Union Square, and Overlea. The couple eventually purchased the 1860s Union Square rowhome, which featured original hardwood floors, fireplaces, stairwells, and baseboards.
Throughout the episode there were historical tidbits mentioned about Baltimore including the common styles of Baltimore architecture – rowhomes, colonials, Victorians, and four squares – as well information about the use of Union Square Park during the Civil War.
The episode featured many shots of South Baltimore including the couple’s stop at Zella’s Pizzeria in Hollins Market to have a pizza and discuss their final decision, and their visit to Housewerks in Carroll-Camden to check out vintage items. There was also scenes of them walking around in Federal Hill and talking about all the restaurant options in the area.
