Sci-Fi Valley Con (Picture Heavy)

Hello, hello, hello!!! Those of you who have been with me from the start know how much of a huge dork I am! So it shouldn't surprise you at all that I went to our local sci-fi con this past weekend ... or that I dressed up. :)

This is a little picture heavy (edit: a lot picture heavy), but I wanted to share my excitement and pictures with any who might be interested. For those who aren't here's a pic of my nails done for the con using my Spellbound Nails Leave the Brakes On, Holo Back Girl!, Carbon Copy, and lots of acrylic paint. I apologize for the bad picture quality but I stayed up late painting them. There's a slightly better pic in one of the collages below.

The con was a 3 day event but I could only make it for Saturday and Sunday. So I planned two costumes based around Doctor Who. I decided I wanted to be Eleven, and went ahead and found or put together some images and then built my costumes around them.

I needed a fez and a bowtie for both outfits and I decided it would be simpler to just craft them myself.

Saturday's Outfit Fez: (black poster board, red felt, & lots of glue) Tassel: Tapestry Tread Headband: Walmart Bowtie: Handmade (felt, elastic & glue) Top: Sears (Metaphor) Suspenders: Hot Topic Shorts: Walmart (No Boundaries) Tights: Walmart Sonic Screwdriver: Hot Topic (Eleven's screwdriver) Shoes: Charles Albert (second hand)

Sunday's Outfit Fez, Tassel, Headband: See above Dress: Hot Topic (Eleven) Sonic Screwdriver: Hot Topic (Eleven) Tights: Walmart Shoes: Charles Albert (second hand)

Saturday my niece and I went. She dressed as Tris from Divergent and got a lot of attention over her Divergent temporary tattoos. :)

On Sunday I went with the boyfriend. It was a ton of fun. <3

And now in an attempt to keep things short ... slightly shorter? I put together a few collages of our time at the con. Enjoy!!

And the goodies I bought ... or that were bought for me. ;)

And my most favorite-est things from the con are my prints of me with the Tardis in both my costumes. The first one I will apologize for. I didn't pay to have the print sent to my email so I had to take a picture of it through the plastic and it reflected. I learned my lesson with Sunday's Tardis pic and had it email to me as well.

I attempted the same pose and think I did wonderfully. I was a little sad to learn that K-9 was on loan for Saturday only so I couldn't get him in the second picture but I love it best anyway.

I had an amazing time, and I'm already planning next year's costume ... or Halloween's costume if I can't wait that long lol.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my time at the con. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Until next time,
Ashley
