This time last year Brielle was taking her first dip into the field of hands on (or feet on) crafting when creating her Footprint Valentine’s at the young age of 5 months. This year she’s a lot more active and has had plenty more experience in the art of hand, finger and footprint painting!

On another COLD January day, we took baths then put on new pjs and spent some time with a fun painting exercise: fork painting! Yes you’re reading that correctly. I introduced plastic forks with our Crayola Washable Fingerpaints

to give a different texture to her pretty paintings.

Just as we’ve experienced in the past few fingerpainting opportunities, she LOVES when I put down a drop of paint on the paper and let her mush, mix and blend it all around the paper. At first she only did this with her fingers until she remembered the forks in hand!

If mommy tried to rock a beat with her hands she did the same with the forks, making a nice textured mess beautiful picture.

We let these lovely fork paintings dry.

After letting them dry, mommy did her magic with a custom “Happy Valentine’s Day” tag to turn these textured pages into cards for a few family and friends. I created the tags as a FREE PRINTABLE for your use which you can download here!
