I got my shipment for the new release from MFT and this darling chef set was sitting on my desk next to the Taylored Expressions Happy Hens set that I had picked up at my local scrapbook/stamp store, Scrappy Chic. The wheels started turning, and I realized this was one of those twisted ideas that just HAD TO BE DONE! Lookie:
STINKIN' CUTE! (YILM!) The chef certainly believes in a chicken in every pot, but hopefully those hens will be too fast for him! I stamped the new Mini Hexagon background stamp on Cherry Crisp cardstock, laying the cardstock on top and gently tapping with my fingers to get a patchy distressed look.
I stamped the chef on Neenah Solar White and used my Sakura Micron 03 pen to draw in the cleaver behind his back. I then colored him in with Copic markers and cut him out with my Silhouette using the PixScan sheet.
The background was done by stamping the largest pot first, masking it off, then stamping the other pots, masking where necessary. I drew the countertop in with the same Micron pen and a ruler then colored with Copics. The greeting was stamped and die cut out of Daffodil cardstock using the smallest circle from the Cross-Stitched Circle Stax.
I colored the hens with Copics and used the dies that came with the Happy Hens set to cut them out. I added some Neutrals Candy Dots and some black gingham ribbon (retired, but I found something similar though not as narrow so I linked to it below).
Below is my list of products that I used (that are still available), and I have used affiliate links where they were available, as I now participate in affiliate programs for Simon Says Stamp, Amazon, Ellen Hutson LLC, Scrapbook.com, and Blick Art Supplies. Buying through these links helps support my blog and my artistic endeavors, and I thank you. Stampin' Up! product links lead to their webstore, so please be sure to indicate your preference in demonstrator if it doesn't come up automatically!
