QUARTER CENTURY

I turned 25 last Friday.

I am now officially a quarter century old. As I enter mid-way through my twenties I am reminded just how grateful I am to be alive, healthy and doing what I love. I would agree with Audrey Hepburn that “…happy girls are the prettiest!” I feel the most beautiful when I am happy. Happiness does not depend on my circumstances, it truly is a choice I make from within. Much like beauty, I believe it comes from the inside.

My approach to beauty and aging gracefully is to laugh often, take care of my health/body and be kind to others. I think that is the best legacy to leave behind. Taking care of my skin has been a huge part of caring for my health, after all it is the largest organ on our body and it can truly reflect how well you take care of yourself from the inside out. My skincare regime has been focused on preventing rather than treating. I think it is a privilege to grow older, I am grateful for every year, becoming wiser and hopefully more graceful. I embrace my flaws and the growing lines – I always say a life well lived is on your face, so if you have smile lines I consider you truly beautiful! What I love about the Lancome Geneifique Youth Activating Concentrate serum is that there are no parabens, sulfates or phthalates which is so important to me as this product is part of my everyday skincare routine and will be for years to come. I am very particular about the ingredients in my cosmetics and skincare is no exception. I use it morning and night – even under my makeup (it adds such a nice glow to your skin!). You can keep it in the fridge as well for an extra treatment and it will lock right into your pores. I’ve also begun using it in conjunction with the youth activating eye illuminator and love the results I’m seeing so far.

Lancome invited me and a few other bloggers ranging in different ages to fly to Montreal to film a video dedicated to loving our age. I had such a great time meeting so many beautiful women in the same industry and making a declaration to feel beautiful at any age. Watch the video below:

If you’re ready to embrace your age, Lancome will donate $3 for every person who makes a declaration to the Look Good Feel Better foundation – which helps women with cancer manage the effects of their illness on their appearance. It’s a makeover for the spirit! Learn more here: http://lancome-genifique.ca/en/
