I’m so excited to share this new brand discovery with you guys today! Samples were kindly sent to me from BUTTERelixir for review and I’m so thankful because these products work really well and are all natural! Created by 3 yogis living in NYC, Butter Elixir was created as way to combine the elegance of art and design with skincare products that were high quality, clean, natural, organic and perfect for nourishing the body and soul.

I was so excited to try this brand out because I’d seen it all over many a bloggers instagram and after reading more about the brand, I knew I had to try it out! That being said, I still wasn’t sure what I should expect or what the brand was truly about. It wasn’t until I actually tried the products out that I really got more of a sense of what this brand and collection of products is really about.

The BUTTERelixir natural sea sponge they sent over is SO soft and the perfect size to use in the shower. It’s sourced from the Pacific Ocean and they claim it can last up to 3 months with proper care. It’s actually so soft and gentle you could use it on your face, if you like, and I have to great effect. I really like that natural sponges like this one don’t harbor bacteria as much as the synthetic variety. This one is super luxurious to use in the shower with a body wash or even a body oil. It has no scent and works so well for working up a lather! Definitely try to remember to squeeze all of the excess water out of your sponge after each shower when you’re finished using it as this will prolong the life of your sponge.

Their namesake product, aptly called just BUTTERelixir is a real hero body product for me! It’s super softening, nourishing and more on the thick side as far as body oils go, but it’s not heavy at all. It utilizes a blend of plant oils sourced from the middle east such as argan oil, sweet almond oil, lavender and chamomile. No fragrance or artificial ingredients are used so I love that! A little goes a long way so just be sure you don’t over-apply. The scent is really lovely and floral; perfect for midway between spring and summer, in my opinion! I love the packaging of this item, but I wish the bottle they used was a bit more pliable as it’s hard to squeeze/shake the oil out of.

Lastly, the BUTTERelixir bar is super gentle and nourishing with lots of lather, though I think if you have dry skin, you may need something more hydrating. I found it to be really cleansing, not drying, but also not creamy or anything. There’s no fragrance or anything in this bar so there’s literally no scent making it perfect for sensitive skin types. I love that the bar is formulated with coconut oil and various other plant oils so I know it’s caring for my skin gently. At that to the fact that there are no sulfates, detergents, fragrances, or harsh ingredients and I’m thrilled! I love soaps that are made with all good things because they just work better and they don’t dry your skin out like drugstore brands.

Overall, I’m really impressed with BUTTERelixir. I thought maybe they wouldn’t be able to live up to my expectations given how many people have said good things about them, but they really do. Their products work well and I love that they are elegant, but still really simply made.Ultimately, I love a product that is simply crafted, effective, and still beautiful and this definitely fits the bill.
