botanica

What's a girl to wear when it's 95 degrees out but she doesn't want to look beach-bound? A cotton shirt and breezy palazzo pants did the trick for me. Fully covered though I was, I swear I was not hot for a second.

Top: Gap, cotton tuxedo shirt. I can't seem to get enough of this perennial must-have. I buy a new white shirt every season
Pants: Zara, botanical print palazzo trouser. A nice break from skinnies, which I'm slowly transitioning away from.
Bag: Natasha, box clutch. Surprisingly roomy and seems to go with everything!
Shoes: Zara, suede. Love me a multi-strap shoe in two tone.
Sunnies: H&M. Five dollars, but look and feel much more costly.
Accessories: Skagen watch, Urban Outfitters zebra bangle, BCBG black lacquer ring, F21 earrings. I'm all about the ladylike clip-on earrings these days. They feel so "Dynasty" and unexpected with a modern outfit.
Makeup: Smashbox "Smashing Strike" lipstick. Sally Hansen "Firefly" nails.
Hair: Fake a smooth chignon by creating a ponytail and tucking the ends into a loop and securing with a few bobby pins. Hairspray liberally.
