Our Spring Flowers and Simply the Best

Good morning!

I’m anxiously awaiting my nutrition plan for the week from Coach Elizabeth. It’s so fun to get the packet on Sunday mornings.

Then I get to meal plan and make a grocery list and hit up Trader Joe’s before the crowds hit. That’s the plan anyway.

I hope your spring is off to a great start! I tried to get a cool picture of flowers out in the front to represent the first day of spring, but instead I give you these that Andrew and the boys created.

Pretty much the same thing, right? I mean if those don’t scream “spring is here” I don’t know what does.

Kidding.

I barely survived the day Friday. Whne I got home from work I needed a quick pick me up so I just mixed some Vega One with a little cold brewed coffee and coconut milk.

It did the trick. I also wore my hat super low to try to hide my tired face. Ha ha.

I went on a long, SLOW outside run yesterday. I was so nervous about it before actually heading out the door. My last attempted long run was cut severely short because my quad tightened up so bad. I had to turn around and walk home.

Yesterday though, it was awesome.

It was the longest and slowest run since the TCS New York City Marathon in November. We’ll chat more long run stuff tomorrow, but I’m still just so thankful about yesterday.

I feel fine today and even felt fine all day after the run. My legs are a little off since they’re getting used to running again, but other than that I don’t really notice much.

I had a green Vega protein smoothie immediately upon my return home.

Green smoothies are simply the best.

You know what else is simply the best? Having your brother-in-law and nieces babysit and put the boys to work while you get to work on taxes and run to Target on a Saturday by yourself.

Oh and it’s also a must to cash in on the Starbucks rewards drink when you’re alone. Ha.

Last night was a date night with the boys.

We went macaroni and cheese style. I’m not sure if it’s a rule in your hose, but when we have macaroni and cheese we always have to have broccoli with it. Something about the combination is awesome.

I made mine paleo style with roasted spaghetti squash (this recipe- Paleo mac and cheese), but baked everything together in the oven.

I had some Applegate organic beef hot dogs in there too.

Somehow I convinced the boys to watch Dancing With the Stars with me. It was brilliant and they both asked if they could come cuddle with me.

This moment was the best.

I wasn’t aware of the nose picking until I looked at the picture later. Too funny.

This is what went down this morning.

Party in the mama’s bed complete with a hairless cat in her face.

It’s a rest day today and I’m embracing it. One of my priorities today is to finally start reading this book, The Best Yes, I bought awhile ago.

Has anyone read it?

Enjoy your Sunday!
