Carine Roitfeld Announced as Harper’s Bazaar Global Fashion Director

Carine Roitfeld is a former model and writer but is more notably recognised for her role as Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Paris from 2001 to 2011. She is a fixture at international fashion shows, often seen through the lens of street style photographers in her signature all black ensembles.

Now the high flying Parisian is leading the pack with a fashion industry first as Harper’s Bazaar has welcomed her as global fashion director across all 26 international titles. Roitfeld has said in the past of her work, “I will always be irreverent in my own way, but I will try to use new approaches. I’ve used a lot of cigarettes, a lot of sexy pictures, a lot of naked girls. I will try to do something totally different now, because I don’t want to get bored of myself or to bore my readers. So, if I learn something new today, I will use it. I have to reinvent myself.”

It is no doubt a hefty job to work across all 26 Harper’s Bazaar titles, but here is no stopping the hard working and ever-evolving Mrs. Roitfeld. Her work can be seen Harper’s Bazaar Australia’s beautiful 15th Anniversary March issue.
