A FAMILY HOME IN AN OLD FACTORY IN FRANCE

Fanny and Pascal François have transformed an old factory building near Lille, France, into a beautiful family home. Despite the industrial characteristics of the building, they managed to create a warm, relaxed and inviting atmosphere. With the help of Lille based firm Bo Architectures, the couple decided to knock out all the unnecessary walls and instead create a ground floor where the kitchen, dining room and living room are situated in one large open space. To preserve the original spirit of the building there were two specific elements important for the couple: a concrete floor and the designs of the windows, which had to be replaced by seemingly identical ones. The walls were sandblasted to restore the home’s original brick walls. The result is stunning I think!
