WEEKEND ESCAPE: MAISON ESTATE IN SOUTH AFRICA

Maison Estate is a beautiful vineyard and restaurant located in Franschhoek, South Africa. It is dedicated to three simple pursuits: the production of beautiful wines, the making of delicious food and the appreciation of great design. The wine-producing vineyard includes a stunning new tasting room and restaurant where you can relax in a space that engages all the senses. Owner Chris Weylandt is also the owner of well-known South African furniture and homeware store Weylandts. He has seen the world, and as an avid wine connoisseur the decision to produce his own collection of wines from his Franschhoek farm is one of his long-time dreams. Renowned for his attention to detail and organic design philosophy, Weylandt’s wine production is an eco-conscious labour of love. The restaurant is beautifully decorated (simple yet elegant with lots of wood) and there is also a venue that can be rented for weddings and events.
