Three Great Reasons To Enjoy Ice Cream This Winter

It may be cold outside but that’s no reason not to enjoy one of the tastiest treats on the planet – ice cream. Armed with a tub of Kapiti new Black Doris Plum & Crème Fraiche ice cream we’ve created three simple ways to enjoy this delicious new flavour sensation all winter long.

This limited edition (which means it’s here for a good time not a long time) ice cream combines plums from Central Otago with velvety crème fraiche to give you an explosion of deliciousness on a plate.

So in case you needed a reason to indulge then here are three of our favourites.

ICE CREAM SANDWICH

Turn ice cream into sophisticated after-dinner finger food.

• Thaw a tub of Kapiti Black Doris Plum & Crème Fraiche ice cream until it’s soft but not runny.
• Arrange wafer biscuits on the bottom of a small cake tin
• Add dollops of ice cream and smooth out with the back of a spoon.
• Arrange wafer biscuits on top (making sure to place them in the same direction as the bottom layer) and return to freezer.
• When you are ready simply cut ice cream along the edge of the wafers with a sharp knife and serve.

ICE CREAM HEARTS

Bring back the romance by adding a little heart or two to your next dinner party.

• Thaw a tub of Kapiti Black Doris Plum & Crème Fraiche ice cream until it’s soft but not runny.
• Pour into a small cake tin and refreeze.
• When frozen use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut shapes.
• Sprinkle with icing sugar and serve.
