How I Broke the Rules at the Ritz

Hi Ladies!
You think 54 would make me more age appropriate when it comes to dressing?
Of course not! Should we care what others think at this stage of our lives? The style confident woman says, it's not about age appropriate dressing -It's more about body appropriate dressing -

Dress $2 - St-Vincent de Paul
Escada Jacket - $2 -Salvation Army
50s bag - $10
Jeffrey Campbell Platform - Retail


My, My! i see fabulously fit and well shaped Ladies over 45 worried about looking too young or

not age appropriate when it comes to dressing, but in fact they look so good!
And nothing wrong with their style choices! Let me ask you a question- Is there anybody out there in the real world that acknowledge how fantastic you look? and if so, do you believe them?
Why should you worry about the rest of the planet?
Women have a tendency not to believe that they actually look fantastic- We spend so many unproductive minutes, hours looking for flaws-Why is that?
Look at me,see the chicken skin on my neck? who cares? that's life!
Frankly, it bugs me a little-
But does it make me less attractive?
Is it a reason not to wear a short dress and platform boots?
Cause, i read awful stuff like, you clothes should match your body?
Where does it all come from?
Who said anything that stupid?
Does it mean i should wear old wrinkled clothes?

Fabulous 50s purse purchased last year
Plus, i went to the St-Vincent de Paul's monthly social security cheque half price sale
I got myself a few retro $2 dresses for the summer

I I believe style after 45, 50 and over is not about competing with the younger crowd - or dressing like the girl you were 20 years ago - It's all about dressing like the women you are now-
If you prefer a short skirt, platform shoes, high heels, floral dresses, wear pastels, hearts, cats and the list goes on and on - It's your decision- My decision-

I wore this ensemble to go to brunch at the Ritz Carlton this Sunday for my birthday-
As we were awaiting for our table at the Ritz ,the young hostess said -
I love your quirky outfit - Nice style!
I rest my case!

I will see you soon, don't know when, but i will be back!
