Rawrgirls Review . . . Maybelline Master Sculpt Contouring Palette!

I've been amateurishly contouring for a few months and had managed to reasonably work it into my daily make-up routine using just a regular bronzer, a highlighting stick and a heavier hand than needed. And then in walks Maybelline Master Sculpt (£6.99) like it's walking onto a yacht, and changes the whole goddamn game!

Doing it's thing in 2 shade options; 01 Light Medium and 02 Medium Dark, this nifty little compact houses everything you need to sculpt, define and reshape your features. You get the contour colour and highlighter split pan, mirror and applicator brush. Not gonna lie, I found the brush a little too stiff for my liking so I've been using my Real Techniques Contouring Brush, but it's a personal choice every woman has to make for herself. I have 01 Light Medium, and it's SO much better for my skin tone than the bronzer I was using to achieve the same goal!

The main difference between using this and my old bronzer is that the bronzer is recognisable as exactly that, an orangey brown glittery shade, whereas this contouring colour is describable only as a SHADOW, which is how it should look! I feel kinda silly for using my bronzer now to be honest, the difference is insane! Add to that the use of the highlighter instead of my old faithful Benefit Watts Up, which on reflection is probably too shiny (no pun intended), and you have one very happy, newly sculpted me. The results are quite discreet because that's how I want it to be, we're not drawing on a potato here guys, but see that shadowing and highlighting on my cheekbones, my nose and chin? That's all me that is. I am also quite fond of the fact that my face is now the same colour as my décolletage. Boo ya.

If you're new to contouring, or just fancy adding something new to your everyday kit, you can't go wrong with this piece for the price, I definitely recommend it! Walk away from the bronzer, slowly now so as not to alarm it, and pick yourself one of these bad boys up instead. By the way, my bronzer is now back where it belongs, as a colour accent with my blusher, and we're sorry if we inflicted any pain onto your eyes. Every day's a school day right?

J xoxo
