Life as a Non-blogger

Long time no see, soul mates. You haven't heard from me for almost two months now (!). Just when I was all geared up to write a steady stream of updates, I face a hectic work schedule that made it impossible for me to write anything vaguely interesting or meaningful. Thus, I'm consistently confronted with the choice of leaving you with nothing new to read instead of blah-ging my way into your feeds.
Again and again, I have always told you how much I worry about blog content that I will not bother posting if there is really nothing much to say (I have twitter or my facebook page for that), which might explain the relative silence on the blog. When your life does not revolve around blogging, it's normal to encounter this ever-present stumbling block to consistently posting.

Technically, I think I have already been a non-blogger since late last year. Since the start of 2013, I have not attended any blogger event or accepted any additional blogging projects (except the existing ones) because I've been too focused on my work. Ditching all those have definitely given me all this extra time to do... even more work (haha, I must be crazy)! Styling for television, and a huge celebrity at that, has been very demanding, not to mention the fact that I've been juggling management jobs for a number of film and video projects altogether.

Wee for firsts :)
Two of the highlights of my absence included very exciting challenges in film production. First, I experienced my first production management job for an out-of-town shoot for "May Dinadala" (I came home fresh from Bohol last week) and second, I was recently hired as an assistant director for "Landing".

"May Dinadala" is a tale of a married man and his affair with an engkanto (a Filipino supernatural element), shot in the beautiful town of Loboc in Bohol. Our locations were mostly exteriors consisting of a market, quarry area, forest, spring, bridge and beach. Filming under extreme weather conditions– heat and rain, communicating with the locals who do not speak Tagalog well, shooting long hours for a few consecutive days, plus working with diverse personalities were some of the onerous production elements that we have surpassed.

On the other hand, "Landing" is a psycho thriller about a shabu addict turned murderer. Working for this film felt like conquering a new territory. Being one of the youngest crew members in a group of experienced media practitioners from ABS-CBN's drama department, I felt quite pressured to prove myself and hopefully I did.

Both jobs required a lot of grueling ground work and I've had my fair share of short comings. Things were not always perfect (to the point that I felt like I've failed, yuuuck emo haha) and there were situations that I wished I could have changed (gaah there's no sense in crying over spilled milk) but nevertheless, I'm beyond thankful for the wonderful people that I've had the opportunity to work with and the tough lessons that I learned along the way.

Yay for shirts :p For the past few weeks, I have come to the point of forgetting that a part of me is or was a "style blogger". It felt like I've diminished every right to even label myself that since I've lived in no-fuss shirts, shorts/pants and boots/sneaks/flats– my everyday work wear. Gone was the pressure to come up with impeccable sartorial choices every time I set foot outside my house and the need to take outfit shots. I've repeated the same clothes within the same week without giving a damn.

Nay for backlogged posts :( Currently, I've collected a huge pile of blog entries that I owe to friends and brands (this is one of the things that I'm quite upset about). It's mortifying that the list gets longer every single day! I haven't had the chance to stop whatever it is that I'm doing so I could just sit and think about what to write and how to write it. I really feel awful about not being able to deliver especially the posts that I've committed myself to but I'm feeling positive that I'll be able to finish them all this coming month!

* * * * * * * * * *
There are many stories that I still wanted to share and so many thoughts that I pray I could soon put into one cohesive writing but right now I'm just glad to be able to blog after a long while! Since I haven't done any activity that's blogger-related yet, I'm happy to announce that I'll be part of Super Sale Bazaar (yes again) this March 1-3 at the World Trade Center! Please drop by my booth (same place, first stall in the extreme right lane) and shop till you drop! See you!
