It is crazy fast for me to think that this year is just passing by. Looking at this set of photos that my husband and I took back in Budapest, I can’t help but be reminded of how much I’ve fallen in love with the beauty of Hungary. Often called the “Paris of the East”, Budapest is actually two cities within a city: Buda and Pest. While Buda is the higher-class part of town, where you’ll catch million dollar homes and Bentleys embellishing the quiet tree-lined streets, downtown Pest is actually where everything happens. In all honesty, I initially thought that Budapest is a walking city and that going around would be a breeze. With the city being separated with the graceful River Danube and popular sites being spread out, we quickly realized that it was necessary for us to hop-on-and-off with Big Bus Tours. This practical decision made all the difference for our trip. The Big Bus Tours in Budapest was easy to navigate and use. The paths going in different directions come by close enough that if you want to cut your tour short or jump to a different part of the tour since you may have already finished part of it, you can hop off and walk to the next stop which would serve a different section of the tour. Other bus tours only have one long, never intersecting routes which would make you feel trapped on board as you would have to go around the full cycle of the bus tour until you get back to your starting point.

Certainly, Budapest has some of the most charming bridges in the world. There were times when I absolutely couldn’t decide if taking in the sights of the city were better in the day or night. My favorites were the Chain Bridge and the Liberty Bridge for their history and overall architectural artistry. The Danube River is most certainly one of Europe’s most romantic rivers and these bridges made an impact with making the overall scene all the more romantic and fascinating.

These scenic views were taken from some of my favorite Big Bus Tours stops, which include the Citadel, the National Museum, Castle District and the Liberty Bridge, all located on the Buda side. Since my hotel was over on Pest, Big Bus Tours made it easy, as one of its stops was right in front. It played a huge part in making our holiday favorable and memorable. Included in our ticket were free walking Pest and Castle District tours, as well as a night tour and a river cruise. With Big Bus Tours making my journey so leisurely for me, I doubtlessly had the time of my life. Our Budapest rendezvous was a flight of fancy and thanks to Big Bus Tours, we had an efficient time successfully taking snaps all over the city therefore satisfying our wanderlust for eastern Europe.
