The Jumpsuit is Slowly Taking Over My Closet: Marina London & Manolo Blahnik

The climate is perfectly fall-like here in Cambridge right now. Although we are now in November (aaaand T minus 19 to my birthday hoorah!) the weather continues with a certain glowing, autumnal warmth. It was practically t-shirt weather this afternoon.

I’ve featured different one-pieces on the site before, and I am now convinced, Blog Reader, that the jumpsuit is slowly, steadily, and stealthily taking over my wardrobe. Whilst I’ve found it quite easy to locate casual jumpsuits for daytime however, I’ve found it increasingly difficult to find a perfect style for the evening, or one that can manage that crucial crossover from day-to-night wear. Enter Marina London, and the Man Repeller jumpsuit.

Named with a nod to the sartorial wit and intellect of blogger Leandra Medrine of manrepeller.com, this jumpsuit is created in beautiful navy sand-washed crepe de chine silk, has a distinct pillar like silhouette and fastens with a magnetic fastening at the shoulder seams. What I like about this piece is how it becomes a beautiful alternative for fall / winter; I’ve styled it with a leather jacket and high-heeled boots, a smart long blazer and navy pumps, but most of all it looks amazing on its own.

And that is what the best thing about the jumpsuit is. It doesn’t need much accessorizing to make a statement. Simple, minimal dressing at its best.

Wearing: Jumpsuit from Marina London; clutch and coat, Reiss Fashion; heels: Manolo Blahnik Mary Janes (a special gift I received, thank you!)
