Valentine’s Day Lingerie Guide Part I: Fleur of England

It is, Blog Reader, that time of year again. The time of year for hearts and flowers, for declarations of love and fondness, and basically, any excuse to spoil the one you love. Yes, Blog Reader, Valentines’s Day, love it or hate it, is just around the corner.

I have a two part lingerie guide for you this year, the first one ‘nice’, and next week, rather more ‘naughty’. To begin I want to share the new collections from Fleur of England, the traditionally romantic Caress and the rich and seductive Scarlet, both of which would make perfect gifting this February 14th.

‘Caress’ is a series of beautifully classic lingerie silhouettes created in vintage pink silk and lace. Fleur’s signature styles, the boudoir bra and bow tie brief are perfectly placed within this collection, although those wanting to gift intimates that lean towards the loungewear end of the spectrum can do no wrong with the silk playsuit, a dusky pink luxury style with an elasticated high waist for an elegant fit.

Scarlet, on the other hand, breathes beauty and seduction. Opulent ruby tones convey a sense of confidence and strength – lashings of red silk and italian tulle with attention to detail (bespoke embroidery; silk covered buttons begging to be undone) create bold and sensual silhouettes. My favourites within this collection are the Scarlet baroque body and the plunge bra and derriere brief. The brief style, another Fleur signature, boasts a cheeky cut out derriere with ‘invisible’ Italian tulle at the centre, framed by guipure (heavy lace) sides.

Whilst Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity to gift lingerie, I say it is also an excellent time to treat yourself to something you know you will both look and feel amazing in.
