Taking the concept of the cat cafe in a more cultural direction (cats and cake is simply not enough these days!), Great Kitten has just kicked off a crowd funding campaign which aims to being their vision for a cat cinema, cafe and shelter to life.

“Our firm belief is that the combination of a delicious drink, purring cats to keep you company, and a great movie is the ultimate escapism from London’s rat race and an unparalleled way to relax and unwind,” say the Great Kitten team on their Indiegogo page.

Knowing the scientific benefits of a good kitty cuddle, Great Kitten has also pledged to host a free once-a-week screening for children and adults who struggle with mental health issues, like depression and anxiety, physical disabilities or life-threatening illnesses. We LOVE this idea A LOT.

Apart from being a cosy cavern of cat-based comfort for customers, Great Kitten will also provide a home for its resident cats. “Our rescue cats will feel as if they are in a loving home, surrounded by caring people and stimulating toys.”
