Outfit: sixties stripes in Closet London's La Dolce Vita
Ugh you guys I am so in love with this dresssss, it reminds me of the dress Peggy Olson wore during her victory strut at McCann during the Mad Men finale, and that's pretty much the best style vibe a dress can have if you ask me. SUCH a great work dress that still makes a statement and is form flattering without being clingy. If you're contemplating ordering this dress, be sure to pay attention to the fact that Closet's fit and flare silhouettes are all quite small in the chest region, I'm wearing a UK12 in this and it's still a bit snug in the armpits, but I always have that with silhouettes like these in non-stretchy fabrics.
This dress is part of the Closet London La Dolce Vita capsule collection, and I had loads of fun going with a more put together, feminine look than I generally wear these days. Still totally within my own style preferences though - I feel like I could have worn this outfit 5 years ago or today and it would still 100% fit my style. I'll never completely grow out of the slightly retro look, I'm afraid! Also kind of 4th of July appropriate I guess, with the red, white and blue and the star(fish) details. A month to late, but whatevs.
Only a couple of days until we leave on holiday, I can't wait to breathe in the Côte d'Azur air, feel the sun on my skin, wear all of my summer clothes and take a dip in those blue, blue waters. Check out my France tag to read about my previous visits to France if you're interested!
