Hello Again

I can't believe more than a year has gone by since I last blogged! So much has happened in those 13 months.

The biggest news? We're having a baby!!! Zach and I found out I was pregnant while we were on vacation in August. We took a road trip to Niagara Falls and then we spent a week with family in a gorgeous house in Maine. About halfway through that week is when we decided to take the test. We were shocked when those two blue lines instantly appeared! It was SO hard to keep the secret with family around - Zach and I took several long walks around the beautiful Maine wilderness by ourselves, just letting the realization soak in.

This pregnancy has definitely had its difficulties, like having terrible morning sickness until around the 20-week mark. Now that I'm past the sickness, it has been so fun to start getting the baby's room ready and tackle projects around the house I've been meaning to do ever since we moved in.

I'm so thankful to be able to relax during this time. My last week of work was actually the week before we found out I was pregnant. Our lives changed quite a bit in August! After a lot of talking it over, Zach and I decided I wouldn't start a new job right away since I want to stay home with the baby and being able to have a stress-free pregnancy was also important. It's given me time to work on freelance writing, take some online classes, and write the first draft of a novel.

I'm not sure what my plan is for this blog... I may update every once in a while with lifestyle-like posts. I can't wait to catch up on everyone's blogs! :)
