Crochet Shamrocks

I’ve been on a bit of a crochet kick, so of course I had to try out some crochet shamrocks. I tried a few different patterns so I could let you know which I liked best…

They were so hard to get a picture of! The green is a fun chartreuse color, much closer to the color you see when the shamrocks are pinned in her hair, not the dull green you see in the shamrock-only pic. They’re one of those must-see-in-person projects.

To pin them on piggy tails, I just slid a bobby in through a few of the yarn loops on the back. It’d also be easy to hot glue a hairclip to the back, but I was trying to be super fast.

I tried 3 patterns – first the one from Hooked on Crafting was my favorite from the pictures, but when I got to actually making it, it was least favorite. I just couldn’t get it to turn out right with that real defined outline like I liked. Maybe you’ll have better luck with it.

Next I tried the one from Skip To My Lou – I like the simplicity of it, and made a few of them – I think the garland would be fun to try:

My favorite pattern I tried was from Treasured by Holly – I just liked the overall look and feel and slight squareness to these ones.

Are you ready with all your green wear for tomorrow? Whip up a few crocheted shamrocks to accessorize everything!!
