Engineering Prints in Embroidery Hoop Frames {home decor contributor}

Hello Again, Sugar Bee Friends! It’s me, Ariean from OneKriegerChick, here to share a fun way to display photos. I love the look of the engineering prints Mandy has done so many Amazing projects with and have been working on a gallery wall going down the stairs in my home. I could have mounted all of my photos on foam board, but came up with this cute idea to add some variety…

What you need…

{black and white engineering prints, foam board, embroidery hoop, pencil, exacto knife, spray adhesive, optional: paint for hoop}

Let’s get started…

First, set the embroidery hoop in place on the print. Trace around the outside edge of the hoop using a pencil.

Trace around the inside edge of the same hoop onto foam board.

Cut out the image using a pair of scissors. Using an exacto knive or other sharp blade, cut the circle shape out of foam board. Using spray adhesive, spray onto the foam board. Line up the photo onto the board and carefully press into place. I recommend working from one side to the other, making sure there are no bubbles. The photo will be a tad larger than the foam board, so just trim around the edges.

Press the photo into the inside layer of embroidery hoop. The photo board may need a teeny bit of trimming to make it fit perfectly. Each of mine needed a bit of adjusting to keep the board from bending.

So…after I made these and thought they turned out better than I imagined, my sweet husband asked if I was “leaving them like that?” That was his hint that they needed to be painted, so I painted them. He was right…I’m loving the painted hoops much better.
Hang them on the wall or lean them on the mantel…either way, they are such a fun way to display photos!
