Hi, I’m Jess from Everyday Party Magazine, I love DIY’s and parties! I am so excited to share my US Flag inspired napkin today!
Supplies:
Heavy weight cotton fabric
Tulip soft fabric paint in red and blue
Painters tape
Star Stickers or cut out Vinyl, I used my Cricut to cut out inexpensive vinyl stars
(2) Foam paint brushes
Iron
I like to gather my supplies before I start a project, so I know I am fully prepared and don’t have to go hunting around mid project. I had leftover canvas drop cloth fabric leftover from another project, so I washed it with mild detergent, and no fabric softener prior to starting this project. I began by cutting rough edge rectangles from the fabric. (I thought I would iron a hem into the fabric, but I really liked the rough edge better) Once they were all cut to about the same size, I was using rough measurements and cuts, remember, I ironed each one.
After the red was completely dry, in just a few minutes, I taped the area around for the blue part of the flag. I added the cut star vinyl at this point too. Be sure to press the stars on really well, you don’t want them to move around while you paint.
Once the blue is dry-ish to the touch, carefully peel up the stars and tape. That’s it!
Since I made mine with canvas, they were super heavy duty and cleaned up messes with ease, and wash really easily! We even used one as a photo prop for my mom’s chihuahua!
Thanks so much to SugarBee Crafts for hosting me today! I’d love to have you visit my blog, Everyday Party Magazine and check out more of our DIY’s and inspiration!
Thanks again for having me!
Jess
