Oh duochromes and multichromes.. be still my heart.
CrowsToes is one of my favorite indie brands since the day I fell in love with Triple Black Diamond and when I saw the announcement of The Pleiades Collection – a collection of the eight multichrome shimmers Alcyone, Asterope, Celaeno, Electra, Maia, Merope, Orion and Taygete – my knees went a little weak and I knew I had to order at least a few of them.
Luckily I could purchase Asterope, Maia, Merope and Orion of The Pleiades Collection the second the stock went live on llarowe.
As a green nail polish admirer addict I just had to wear the olive/green/teal/blue (and in some lightings even purple) multichrome Orion first.
In most lighting you will only notice the olive green/green and teal part of the multichrome finish which makes CrowsToes Orion look more like a duochrome. However in some angles – if the light hits the nail with a very flat angle – you can see the blue or even purple shimmer of Orion.
The green of CrowsToes Orion from The Pleiades Collection isn’t very saturated. It is more like a murky, toned down lighter forest green or moss green.
In indirect lightingThe shimmer flecks of CrowsToes Orion are so pretty. They make Orion especially in sunlight almost look like a borderline foil nail polish. In indirect and direct lighting from my halogen lamps Orion is a sparkle-fest as well. ♥
The application of CrowsToes Orion from The Pleiades Collection was good. I needed three coats for full opacity and I think next time I will wear it over a black base to see how it looks then.
Do you have a soft spot for duochromes and multichromes too and have you purchased some of The Pleiades Collection as well?
Thanks for looking and have a great week! ♥
