Nautical

I am back from a whirlwind week in Europe. I love flying long haul because I get to watch lots of movies that I might have otherwise missed. This time it was: Beginners with Ewan Mcgregor and Mélanie Laurent, In Time with Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried and Planet of the Apes. I have to confess I have a complete girl crush on both Melanie for being super cool and Amanda, well for being genetically ridiculously perfect. (Do you think she might be an alien?)

Europe was amazing, although I have never been so cold in my whole life. Moscow cold, three weeks ago has nothing on the cold that has plagued Europe this month. Vicious, debilitating and penetrating it made my holiday all that slightly bit less pleasant. Air France gave me a gift though, as the pilots and crew were striking my flight was delayed by 12 hours which gave me a whole extra day to see Paris.
Being back in Hong Kong, I have been super jet lagged and sick, but got my strength together tonight to see the Lyon Ballet, part of the HK Arts Festival, the second part was incredibly original and mind blowing. If you ever get a chance make sure and see the
"Grosse Fugue" by Maguy Marin the groundbreaking female French choreographer.

I am just finalising my Paris post and editing the photos, in meantime I wanted to share some outfit photos of my winter staples, I did in January. The ocean has had a huge influence on fashion this season, with all designers from Karl Lagerfield to Stella McCartney drawing their inspirations from all things aquatic. One way to start playing the nautical theme is through the perennial wardrobe classic the Breton top.
Here I paired my Breton top with my only new purchase from January, a skirt I got on sale from Club Monaco, while CM do produce things in China and I question their sustainability credentials, I have to admit that their quality seems pretty good, as most of their items I own do age quite well.
P.S. I am waiting for the heavy weights of the NY fashion week to show in the next few days, so far it seems the designers are looking at white black and brownish/red colours.
P.S.S. I have developed an obsession with pastels, especially pale mint and yellow.

Cannot wait to tell you about my Europe travels, stay tuned for the next post!

Outfit: Bec&Bridge jacket, skirt Club Monaco, old Boots by Zara, 5 year old YSL, tights Woolford (worth every penny), Breton top from some random brand Cardigan
