THE WIFE Beauty Inspiration: Kate Bosworth

Kate Bosworth is one of THE WIFE’s favorite style stars. So it makes sense that her make up would be equally on point when she attended the Fine Arts Museum Mid Winter Gala last month. Kate’s Make Up Artist for the event, Andre Sarmiento, shares with THE WIFE™ where she drew her inspiration from.

“For Kate’s look at the Gala we were inspired by the gorgeous dress and how much it felt like quintessential Dior. There was a vintage feeling to the dress, but it was still very modern. That became the look we tried to echo with the makeup. It was definitely inspired by the screen sirens of the 1950′s, but applied in the freshest way possible.

The eyes we kept simple, but still with a touch of smokiness, using the Dior 5 Couleurs in Cuir Cannage to create a soft toffee colored eye. I washed the lightest pale gold color all over the eye area and then blended the dark gold color all over the lid. Then I lined the eyes, top and bottom, with the matte light brown shade in the middle of the palette. I smudged a bit of the darkest color on the outer corners for that added hint of smokiness.

We wanted to do a great lip but also didn’t feel like a traditional matte red was the way to go. We ended up going with a warm, sheeny, vibrant concoction that ended up the perfect shade for the dress. To prep the lips I worked Dior Addict Lip Glow all over. I layered on Rouge Dior Lipstick in Trafalgar for a rich base.
