Fired CBS exec who ripped Vegas shooting victims reportedly gets death threats — and tells cops

The former CBS legal executive fired for declaring she’s “not even sympathetic” to the Las Vegas mass shooting victims is getting death threats — and telling police about them, the New York Daily News reported, citing police sources.

Hayley Geftman-Gold — who also wrote “country music fans are often republican gun toters” — told cops in Manhattan on Monday she received several threats following her infamous Facebook post, police sources added to the paper Wednesday.

@CBS Hayley Geftman-Gold needs to go. Despicable.

CBS issued the following statement about Geftman-Gold: “This individual, who was with us for approximately one year, violated the standards of our company and is no longer an employee of CBS. Her views as expressed on social media are deeply unacceptable to all of us at CBS. Our hearts go out to the victims in Las Vegas and their families.”

Geftman-Gold — who was a vice president and senior counsel for the network — apologized Monday and called her remarks “indefensible” and “shameful,” the Daily News said.

“I am deeply sorry for diminishing the significance of every life affected by Stephen Paddock’s terrorism last night and for the pain my words have inflicted on the loved ones of the victims,” she added, the paper reported.

Contacting police after getting death threats is the normal response. But given Geftman-Gold’s highly insensitive remarks about the very people Las Vegas cops were trying to help amid Sunday night’s massacre, one wonders what may have been going through her head while explaining to the NYPD why she was getting the threats.
