I stole this from my mom when I was 13. It’s perfect for detangling when the hair at the nape of my neck gets crazy from being smushed into the collar of my jackets, and it gives a nice fluffy, bouncy look to my hair.

Glossier Soothing Face Mist: This is great for making your makeup look light and dewy. Sometimes, if my hair feels greasy, I’ll spray it onto my roots to help tone my scalp. When it dries, my hair looks and feels (and smells) fresh.

Diorskin Star Concealer: It matches my skin tone perfectly and it’s not heavy or cakey. It’s portable, and the wand applicator is great for touch-ups. I just dab with my finger to blend.

Rohto Cool Redness Relief Eye Drops: The best eye drops ever. Period. They have quite a startling cooling sensation, which you not only need to be prepared for but also need a minute to recover from. They leave the whites of your eyes super white, which looks great in photos.

Glossier stickers: I carry extra stickers around to stick on things and spread the Glossier gospel.

Regime des Fleurs Dove Grey: My favorite fragrance from my favorite perfume brand. It smells metallic—like concrete after it rains. So good.

Bobbi Brown Crystal Lip Gloss: I’m really into a very reflective, glossy wet lip right now. This is a throwback to my favorite junior high lip gloss that sticks to my flyaway hairs and lasts forever.

Hair clips: I’m growing out my fringe, and if it starts looking a little funky, I’ll part my hair down the middle and clip each side back at my temples.

Glossier Balm Dotcom lab sample: I’m always giving away my actual Balm Dotcoms, but I’ve managed to hold onto my first-ever lab sample. Chalk it up to sentimental value. I use it on my lips before my morning commute, throughout the day on my cheeks and eyelids and then again before bed. It stays in place better than any sort of salve or moisturizer I’ve ever used, and it moisturizes like crazy. No more flaky winter lips!

Tom Ford Lip Shimmer in ‘Moonlight:’ I use this as a highlighter rather than a lipstick. I just swipe it on my cheekbones, around my brow bones, in the inner corners of my eyes and on my cupid’s bow.

Kiko Milano Pencil Lip Gloss Pencil in ‘Mauve Beige: I always like to have a lipstick on hand for adding some color to my cheeks and eyelids—and just a little bit on my lips. I don’t have a particular favorite but usually reach for warm taupes or mauves.

Viviscal supplements: Viviscal is the holy grail of healthy hair-growth supplements—apparently. Emily’s been using them, and they seem to be working for her, but I’m so bad at remembering to take them! This is why I carry them around—if I do remember to take them, they’ll be there.

Gum: I have meetings all day long, so I’ve learned to keep gum handy. I don’t care what type of gum, as long as it’s minty and not flavored like desserts or fruits.

Lighter: I don’t smoke, but I do want to be prepared if I’m ever stranded. Have you seen “Cast Away?” It took Tom Hanks days to make fire.
