April Challenge | Collaborate

April Challenge | Collaborate

Welcome to the monthly Nerd Nest Memory Keeping Challenge!

This month, your challenge is to Collaborate.

Memory keeping is often a solitary endeavor, but there are lots of benefits to letting someone else contribute to your project. Try letting a friend or family member record their memories by adding journaling, combining your photos with those someone else took to record an event, or having someone else design an element on your page.

To collaborate, I asked my daughter Eliza to color in the flower stickers in the April 2015 Oh Deer Me kit. She came up with all sorts of cool color schemes, and the two blue and yellow flowers used here inspired this page. I remembered that I had IKEA opening photos ready to be scrapped!

Having Eliza color the embellishments not only adds a bit more of her flair to my scrapbooks, which is awesome in itself, but because I wasn’t the one making the decisions, it also sparked an idea that set me off in a different direction than I’d have otherwise taken.

Make sure to check back on Mondays throughout the month for other takes from me and guests (remember that YOU can pitch a guest post!). There are so many great ways to collaborate in memory keeping.

I’ll be adding takes I find to the Nerd Nest Challenges Pinboard! Share your links to past challenges too so I can add them. You don’t have to be a memory keeper in the traditional sense–these are great prompts for blog posts too!
