Bits + Pieces

Um… how is it almost the end of February already?! I really don’t know where this year is going {well, other than the endless hours nursing Vega!}. I thought I’d share a few random photos, little bits of life that don’t fit into any particular post. Some days everything seems a bit too much… always a to-do list a mile long, work, and kids, and house, and life… I’m tired and longing for a whole night of just sleeping! I keep reminding myself that this stage of our life is just temporary… we won’t be up doing night feeds forever {jeez… I hope not!} and before I know it Vega will be a not-so-tiny baby. As he’s most definitely our last, I’m trying to enjoy every. single. second of his squidgy newborness before he’s pushing me off telling me to stop kissing him ;)

The past couple of days have been bliss – the sun has shone, the skies are blue and it’s been warm {ish}. Oh what a difference that makes! Windows have been opened, the heating has been switched off {breifly} and we’ve all felt just a little more alive. I’ve managed to get out in the garden the past two mornings when Vega has been napping. THe top garden has been raked, all the leaves and debris removed, beds tidied up and the rubbish cleared away. It feels so good to be able to get outdoors without freezing, to start getting the garden ready to actually be used again. Another couple of weeks and I can re-seed the lawn and begin to plan long summer days spent playing outdoors.

We’re counting down the last three weeks to our holiday, heading to Bluestone for a mid-week break. I’m really looking forward to a few days away, and a break from the usual.

These fab wellies below arrived for Baya last week, she’s started colouring them in, which is taking her a while as she wants them to be ‘perfect’… such a great idea though, colour in wellies?! Wish they did them in my size… I’ll be sure to share a photo or three when they’re finished! Vega has still been enjoying his Nuna LEAF and giving lots of smiles and coos all around!

There has been much lego playing this winter, lots of cooking, lots of silly kitties sitting in boxes and of course, pancakes! We finally found a hairbrush that doesn’t cause quite as many tears as others. Poor Baya – she has the most gorgeous hair, but boy does it get knotty. We’ve been using this Airmotion hairbrush the past few weeks and I’m impressed. It does seem to detangle her hair really well without pulling, and leaves it smoother than normal. Anything that means I don’t get shouted at every morning is a winner!

Oh – and after talking about refreshing my living room, I finally found a mirror!
