Mixing all "old" pieces today. It's funny how I always feel the pressure to post an outfit that's comprised of "NEW"pieces. But, I realized that for me, fashion blogging is not about what or how much I can buy, it's about expressing my talent for creating moods with clothes, whether it's fresh off store clothing racks or from within my own closet. You don't need to have the latest and greatest to possess style.

When I can't afford to buy new clothes I look to my favorite bloggers for inspiration. I may not be able to own exactly what they do, but I try to draw from the overall mood they project. For example, as I mentioned before, I love, love, love B from Atlantic-Pacific. Her style is versatile and yet always so chic. I especially admire her flair for dramatic details. Like her genius play on pattern mixing here and here (see I told you mixing patterns from the same family can be amazing). Or her bold silhouette here and her daring use of color here. Shoot, I could reference on and on…. you get the picture!

So I've had this old skirt for a looooooonnng time (you've seen my blouse here and my sweater here). It was a pretty easy decision to throw this bright sweater over the striped skirt, but I felt it needed more "B drama" so I layered it with my oh so essential jeweled collar blouse and threw on stacks of bangles. Voila, instant drama!

Cheers to the weekend. Hope yours is filled with bright dreams and bold adventures!
xoXo,
T
