Holiday Trend Alert: Black, White and Mixed Metals

We are delighted to have Kenna from Miss Party Mom sharing her holiday decor featuring the holiday trend of black, white and mixed metals.

Every year as the Christmas stuff starts to hit the shelves a little earlier than it did the year before I start to zero in on any trends that seem to be jumping out at me. Last year I was pleasantly surprised to see jewel tones in everything from Christmas cards to holiday decor. My house was bright and cheery and without a hint of red, green or plaid!

This years holiday trend is a much bolder, more sophisticated look that mixes classy and edgy all in one! Black and white stripes are taking over traditional Christmas patterns and there is no one metallic standing out like in years past… Instead mixing them is the way to go in 2014! That’s right: gold, silver, bronze, copper… Mixed Metals are taking over this season!

When I saw how on trend Tiny Prints were with their holiday card line this year I knew I’d come to the right place for my Christmas cards! I was so torn between two designs, the Shimmering Dots “HAPPY” card that I could put my kids cute faces on… OR go ironic-humor with “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” card with me and the husband arguing on it (true story)… Well, I ended up getting both because cute verses humor is never a fair battle, amiright?

Along with Christmas cards, I found some great holiday decor and gift ideas too… Like this acrylic photo block which is total perfection! I love the personalization and it looks great on our mantel.

Envelope liners are a total MUST HAVE this year! Dots and stripes- just perfect.

When I saw the personalized postage option, I was drooling at the thought of it. I mean, my kids in their Christmas best- on stamps?! Yes, please! And the wrap-around return address labels with the gold dots just topped my adorably lined envelope right off!

These personalized Shimmering Bobbles gift tag stickers make wrapping gifts not only stylish… But super easy! I even stuck them on the back of my Christmas cards!

I was so inspired by my Christmas card order that I decided to decorate our Christmas mantel to coordinate… Hey, I’m a party planner… It’s what we do!

My Tiny Prints Bold Crossing Pillow fits right in with my Christmas decor!

Are you in to this “new” Christmas color palette, or do you prefer the more traditional colors? Either way, may you have a VERY Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
