DIY All Natural Lemon Laundry Stain Fighter & Free Printable

Slowly but surely we have been eliminating toxic products from our home. I am using up what I have and replacing items with healthier and SAFER alternatives. Toothpaste, mouthwash, soap, all of it! Since replacing everything at once is way too financially overwhelming, we are using what I have stocked up and then finding a better solution as we need to. Much easier to tackle this way! I finally worked through my bottle of Shout in the laundry room and was excited to find something new to replace it.

I love digging into my essential oils and natural staples to create inexpensive and natural solutions for our everyday needs. I only use Young Living essential oils and they have improved our lives in hundreds of ways! I use the Lemon essential oil every single day. It is an inexpensive oil that can help you out all over your house and its great for your body as well!

1. One drop in my water for a refreshing and cleansing drink that supports my immune system

2. Sticky residue remover-Like the tape on my glass storm door

3. A few drops in my homemade counter cleaner to keep everything clean and fresh

4. Mixed in with epsom salts for a cleansing and invigorating bath

5. Diffused with Joy or Rosemary essential oils to keep me energized and happy while I am working and the kids are doing homework

After folding the laundry I discovered two t-shirts that still had grease stains on them-ugh! I HATE when that happens and clean clothing goes right back into the laundry. I was finally out of my pretreater and stain fighter so I went off to research and play DIY for the afternoon and find a recipe to help our laundry issues.

Feel free to save this label and print it out in any size to fit your bottle of stain fighter!

I used a 2 ounce GLASS bottle for this one. You want to use glass because the Lemon essential oil will pull toxins out of a plastic bottle and degrade it. Since the tube inside the bottle is plastic, I have been removing it and using a regular lid when it's not in use.

1 Teaspoon of epsom salt

10 drops Young Living essential oil

Distilled water

That's it! I added the salt to the bottle and then the oil. I gave the oil some time to be absorbed into the salt and this will keep the oil blended with the water in your bottle. After 30 minutes I added the distilled water and started spraying. It took the grease stains out on the first try!

This past week, I was running my daughter's class Valentine's party. Within 3 minutes of being on the classroom I had bright red frosting on my white shirt. Like really red store bought frosting in 5 places, I am worse than a child. I came home and immediately sprayed the spots with this mixture and saturated all of the stains. I let it sit like that for an hour and then washed it in warm water and IT CAME RIGHT OUT. I totally did not think that would happen! I wish I had taken a before and after. In hindsight I should have pre-rinsed it or something, but man it really worked!

My sons had a shirt with a tomato soup stain that had already been washed and dried and was a mess. This stain treater faded it, but didn't get rid of it completely. Although, I am not sure a store bought brand would have done it either. For tough stains, I am dropping some of my all natural detergent into the stain and then adding this spray and working it in really well before washing.

This morning, my husband noticed a stain on a tie he was going to wear and I took that as a challenge. I saturated the small stain with the spray and worked it in really well with my fingers. By the time it dried, the stain was gone and there wasn't a ring or residue at all. It looks like new!

I would love to hear about any of your all natural laundry tricks. Our next goal is to start making our own laundry detergent, because the natural stuff is very pricey!
