DIY Lip Balm Recipe with Free Printable Labels

This was our first time making chapsticks and I have to say, it was a little messy but SO easy and inexpensive to make TON. A few dollar investment and 20 minutes will have you set with chapstick for a year!

I have seen lots of recipes on Pinterest, but I decided to go with the one on page 22 of one of my favorite oily resources, The Oily Families Starter Guide. This guide is a great way to become familiar with essential oils, what they are, how they work with your body, safety, and a little info on some of the most versatile and popular oils Young Living offers.

This recipe was easy and only had three ingredients so I figured why not? Beeswax, coconut oil, and Young Living essential oils are all you need to make chapstick for everyone you know. I would recommend buying the beeswax pellets though, grating these rock solid bars of beeswax isn't fun!

I doubled this recipe and made 30 chapsticks. We decided to make two different varieties, Peppermint and Lavender Orange. But really, the possibilities are endless! I want to try Stress Away, Cinnamon Orange, and Citrus Fresh Spearmint.

If you decide to make your own, feel free to use these labels. I printed them on full sheet sticker paper at 1.5 inches wide and covered them with packing tape before cutting out. I thought the tape would be a great way to make the label more durable, but they aren't sticking to the tubes very well. Next time I will skip the tape and just slap those stickers right on the tubes. I bought my tubes right here. $3 for a dozen at Abundant Health 4 U. They have tons of containers, bottle, and jars for all of your DIY recipes!

We are using these as a,"Thanks for coming gift," at our next Essential Oils Open House and I am going to give some to our teachers before spring break with a fun magazine as a little encouragement to relax! Do you guys make your own DIY products? I can't believe how easy it is and how much $$$ we are saving doing this for ourselves!
